Background: Dissatisfaction with standardized external breast prostheses (SEBP) can negatively impact the quality of life in women treated for breast cancer. Objective: To identify and visualize discomforts associated with SEBP use in women with unilateral radical mastectomy in Zacatecas, Mexico. Method: The level of dissatisfaction with SEBP in daily life was analyzed through descriptive statistics using tables, percentages, and frequencies. The analysis and results of this study are based on two cross-sectional observational studies conducted in March 2024 and February 2025, involving mastectomized women in Zacatecas, Mexico. Results: Although more than half of participants reported overall satisfaction with their prosthesis, specific aspects revealed dissatisfaction related to shape, naturalness, mobility, comfort, and weight. Conclusion: The use of SEBP in mastectomized women reveals areas of dissatisfaction. To visualize this problem, the design of customized prostheses in Zacatecas is necessary to enhance self-esteem, symmetry in her physical aspect, and improving their life after facing breast cancer.
